Sweetdreams Wins Food and Drink Award at Made in the North East 2026

Sweetdreams is proud to announce that we have been named Food & Drink winner at the Made in the North East Awards 2026, hosted by Insider Media.

The award recognises excellence in innovation, growth and impact across the region’s manufacturing sector, and marks a significant milestone for the business as we continue to evolve our brand portfolio and long-term strategy.

A Team Achievement

This recognition is a reflection of the collective effort across the Sweetdreams team. From product development and operations through to sales, marketing and distribution, the award highlights the strength of collaboration and shared commitment across the business.

Over the past 12 months, teams have worked closely to bring new ideas to market, strengthen existing brands, and ensure consistent delivery for customers and partners. This joined-up approach continues to underpin our success.

Choc Nibbles: A Proven Concept

At the heart of this recognition is Choc Nibbles, one of our most established and distinctive brands.

Long before the industry conversation around “wonky” or surplus ingredients gained momentum, Choc Nibbles demonstrated the value of taking a more resourceful approach to product creation – transforming what might otherwise be overlooked into something enjoyable, accessible and commercially successful.

Today, the brand remains a strong proof point of how that thinking can translate into long-term value for both customers and consumers.

Supporting Future Direction

This philosophy continues to inform the direction of the business, including our ongoing focus on more responsible and efficient use of ingredients and materials.

While still in development, this thinking underpins our broader strategic ambitions and future-facing initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to building brands that are both commercially effective and operationally thoughtful.

Looking Ahead

Following this regional win, Sweetdreams will now progress to the national Made in the UK Awards final, taking place on Thursday 19 November 2026 at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester.

We look forward to representing the North East on a national stage and continuing to build on the momentum of the past year.
